Just to let you all know, I'm still alive :)
I've been busy, work mostly. And trying to get some hours of snooker in twice per week also eats at my spare time. So yeah, haven't been hearing from me alot, have ya.
Some of you have mailed (or commented) to ask what was up; thanx for that, it was much appreciated, and I'm sorry I didn't even take the time to answer to that.
I'll see if I can get through the 250-somewhat friends entries you have all made over the past couple of weeks and maybe update what's been going on.
But all is well, that's the main point for now :)

Well, the cue is a fact. Yes, I don't waste time. I get something in my head, and it doesn't leave until I either dismiss it entirely or went out and made it real :)
The cue is mid-range. At 150 euro and including two extention parts, it felt good and I actually potted some of the balls I attempted on the table they provide for testing. Saw that as a good sign :) Then, I naturally needed a case to store and carry it in, and unlike the price of the cue, that caught me by surprise. Because of the extentions, a regular case wasn't big enough; and the only case big enough in size they had available came at ... 84 euro :s Quite an expensive case! But then again, it's somewhat like a flight case, really keeping the cue tightly packed in cushions, and the whole thing looks rather solid, so let's hope it lasts as long as the cue itself, justifying its cost over the years to come :) Overall, I got everything I wanted for the amount I had set as my budget, so I'm not complaining.
Naturally, the evening was spent twofold : Firstly finding a victim who is just as lousy as me at the game, and as we just about began to give up and decided to watch some DVD, a friend of mine came online and responded to my plea to join me in a few games.
Just to give you an idea on how much I have to improve : With my highest break of 13 (red - pink - red - blue), I am actually happy :)
I applied for a club not affiliated with any official body, created just for people who want to play the game and have fun. Didn't get an error on the online-form, so I'm supposing it went through, though there hasn't been any confirmation as of yet. I'll give it a week or so, if I haven't heard anything by then, I'll give 'm a call ...
Went to bed much to late yesterday. Came home slightly after midnight and by the time we got ready for bed, the day's summary of the Masters was on. Couldn't resist watching :s *Yawn* Need to stay awake another 6.55 hours before I can nap a little on the train :(

Snooker, odd little game. Dunno why but I just like it. Every time I watch I just dream of being half as good as those guys. I have no hopes of ever being that good, but this time around I've decided to at least take a step. Found a club not too far away, mainly some people playing for fun. Filled in the online form to join, will see what happens next. Anybody have any idea how much a decent cue is going to cost me? I'm guessing €250 or something ...

Does anybody have any idea where I could get the following DVD :
Children of the Corn : Revelation (Fixed the link, didn't seem to work ...)
Requirements :
It absolutely, positively has 2 be region 2
If possible, but this is far less strict, with dutch subtitles, though I have my doubts this even exists.
Please ...

If you've seen Dead Poets Society and in your head make all the guys into girls, you have the basic plot for Mona Lisa Smile. Throw an independant woman into a higly conservative school, and you've got conflict.
Set in 1953 in Wellesley College, this Chick Flick is not as much about plot (there isn't much of it) as it is about bringing an era back to life. Some men might look back and wonder why it all changed, but the modern woman should see this to realize how far they've come over the past 50 years!

I saw an advert on the tele for the Nokia 6600 last night. Not that I am on the lookout for a new phone, nor that I really need one, but if I would want to combine the basic functionality of a PDA with that of a phone, what model would I need???
Basically what I'd want would be the ability to sync my agenda and my contacts from Outlook with it in an easy way, and if possible have small apps for birthday and anniversary reminders, train schedule, ... Nothing fancy, just that...
Or, am I talking still a few years into the future ???

PICTURES !!!!!
Going out to buy an HP 735, getting frustrated at shops that had bargain sales with the items not in stock, and coming home with an HP Photosmart 935 made it yet another expensive day ... I think I'm turning into a buy-aholic ...
But then again, this thing combined with my webspace at ChiChiWaWa.com (which I won't link to as I haven't done anything with it ... not yet, I keep telling myself) could mean I'll be posting pictures now and again ...
As I will do right NOW...
Nope, no pictures of me, don't want to scare you all away. No pictures of the_cin, I can't get her to pose for me ...

Phew, what a busy 4-day weekend it has been... Well, rather busy anyway...
Most of Saturday was spent shopping :
The earlier mentioned Home Cinema system and TV naturally required some furniture to be placed on/in, and finding that was, well, somewhat more difficult than I had anticipated. After strolling around in about 4 furniture stores and several hours later, slightly annoyed by the lack of enthusiasm by the salesman in the last store, we finally did get home with something we have now agreed upon fits perfectly with the color and style of the devices. Yippie !
Getting the TV inside was somewhat exciting though. The door of the flat isn't too wide, and we had to conclude that the TV, in its box, did not fit through... Luckily, without the box, I had about half an inch to spare to get the TV in ... Phew, a little too close a call for me, but all OK in the end, I suppose that's what counts.
the_cin was apparently pleasantly surprised that I had little trouble in putting together the piece of furniture :) And of course, being the geek that I am, setting up the TV (with the wireless tuner I had bought earlier) and the Home Cinema didn't pose me much of problems...
With the cats loving anything wire-like (You wouldn't believe what they put their teeth into!) it's been a bit of a struggle keeping the cats away from it all. And, though I'm sure that behind our backs they do exactly what they want, for now nothing seems to be destroyed just yet ... But we decided not to place the rear speakers until all the furniture has arrived and we have set things to order.
We did test the system though. My X-men DVD's arrived on Monday, and I temporarily brought out the rear speakers for that. After a bit of confusion (apparently, the rear speakers aren't always in use, just to enhance certain effects...) I can now safely say : it sounds smashing!!! There's this one scene in the first X-men movie where Wolverine hears Xavier's voice (thoughts) coming from all around, and that is just amazing. I played the scene twice, just to make sure I didn't imagine it sounding like that! I was going to watch The Matrix Reloaded yesterday, but time caught up with me a little too fast...
A great deal of the remaining time this weekend I spent in the bathroom. No, I wasn't sick! I was testing my handyman skilz ... The walls looked awful. Not only the paper had to go, but a part of the wall had to be fixed... How some people can do that without ending up with bumps and dents in the wall, I'll never understand, but it will have to do ...
On a geek note :
I started having issues with my 802.11b device in the laptop yesterday. Connection would just drop at times, and XP failed to start the device upon startup ... I have installed a different driver for it, and am crossing my fingers the problem will stay away the following days. I'm not too fond of having to turn the laptop in for service, warranty or not. Especially not on a problem that is not consistent, but only intermittent. I just know they'll blame it on the Access Point!
Other than that, the_cin and I are impatiently awaiting a call to hear when our furniture will be delivered. It's taking too long, and that is taking its toll. We want to be able to tidy the place up and just live together, with a little comfort. What's up with these stores anyway; I don't consider 4 months an acceptable term for delivering furniture!

Bought new toys this weekend ... Expensive toys ... Toys only men would buy before more needed things are acquired ...
This is one [EDIT] If the link doesn't work, you should be able to click 'Select Country' somewhere in the upper right of the site. Choose 'United States' and pick 'Philips Electronics' when prompted. Then try the link again...That did the trick for me! Sorry for the hassle :( [/EDIT]
The other is a conventional 4:3 TV ...
Been a while since I've last updated, but too dang tired to say much. Ask away though, I'll respond to every question ...
